Restaurant Week 2012

6 February 2012

Foodies, mark your calendars and get ready to indulge during the Singapore Restaurant Week from 19 to 25 March.

Organised by online restaurant guide DiningCity.com/Singapore, this innovative gourmet event returns to Singapore for its fourth edition with an even larger selection of restaurants. Singapore was the first city in Asia to launch Restaurant Week in March 2010.

During Restaurant Week, diners can enjoy special three-course set meals for a fixed price of $25++ for lunch and $35++ for dinner at over 100 participating restaurants. DiningCity Star-Awarded restaurants charge a supplement of $15 for lunch and $20 for dinner.

In celebration of Valentine’s Day and to connect all eligible and passionate food lovers, a singles culinary challenge, “Cook To Love”, has been specially organised jointly with dating agency Lunch Actually on 13 February. Priced at $100 per person, the event will be conducted by three distinguished chefs – Roberto Galetti of Garibaldi, Dan Segall of KU DE TA and Heather Barrie of Fine Palate Café – at ToTT (Tools Of The Trade) cooking studio. Each chef will be demonstrating a dish served at his or her restaurant and participants will be challenged to whip up these three dishes on their own in pairs teamed up by Lunch Actually.

The winning couple walks away with the grand prize of four return air tickets to Bali on KLM Airlines. Participants also stand a chance to win invitations to Singapore Restaurant Week’s opening event on 21 February at Avalon.

The idea of Restaurant Week originally came from New York more than 10 years ago where it is a huge success and now takes place several times a year. Restaurant Week is also a regular feature in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht and Haarlem in the Netherlands; Vienna, Austria; Rome, Italy; Brussels, Belgium; and Shanghai, China.
